Gilbert Hall

Gilbert Hall is named for James Gilbert, economics professor and liberal arts dean from 1925 through 1947, and is home to the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business. Gilbert Hall is actually a complex comprised of three buildings. The first building, originally known as Oregon Hall, was built in 1916. Commerce Hall, across the courtyard, was built in 1921. The two buildings were connected in the early 1950s by a third structure and the buildings renamed Gilbert Hall. Gilbert houses the largest total of combined classroom space, more than 2,809 seats, on the University of Oregon campus.
