Hendricks Hall

Nowadays Hendricks Hall teems with student foot traffic -- it's home to the Career Center; Department of Planning, Public Policy, and Management; Women's Studies Program; Center for the Study of Women in Society; and Institute for a Sustainable Environment -- but back in 1917 only women were allowed. Hendricks was originally attached to Mary Spiller Hall, the UO's first female dormitory, which was razed in 1950. The building is named after Thomas Hendricks, a benefactor and founder of the University of Oregon. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.
