Music Building

The music building houses the School of Music and Beall Concert Hall, a 540-seat facility acclaimed by numerous guest artists for its superb acoustics. The facility was designed by Ellis Lawrence and opened in 1920. Additions were made in 1949 and 1978. The concert hall was named for Ann Maria Riddie Beall, an Oregon pioneer woman, after her son made a gift to the music school. The school offers one of the two doctoral programs in music in the Northwest and sponsors the Oregon Bach Festival and more than 250 concerts and recitals a year by visiting artists, faculty members, and students.
